Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington added to UFC 205 in New York

Miesha Tate will fight on the UFC's big card in New York. The former women's bantamweight champion has been added to the event and will take on the streaking Raquel Pennington. The UFC announced the matchup today.

Tate (18-6, 5-3 UFC) competed in the main event of UFC 200, but lost her title to Amanda Nunes by submission in the first round. She had won five fights in a row before that, including a late submission win over Holly Holm to claim the belt.

Pennington (8-5, 5-2 UFC) gave Holm a run for her money, dropping a split decision to her in February 2015. Since then, she has reeled off three straight wins - a submission finish of Jessica Andrade, followed by decision victories over Bethe Correia and Elizabeth Phillips.

The other women's bout on the card will see UFC women's strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk defending her title against fellow Polish fighter Karolina Kowalkiewicz. UFC 205 goes down on November 12th in Madison Square Garden in New York City.
