The Rockets are still the best team in the NBA and 7 things from Monday

The Rockets are still the best team in the NBA and they don’t look like they’re slowing down anytime soon. The Jazz gave them a solid fight on Monday night and even took a four point lead into halftime. But eventually, like they always do, the Rockets pulled away with a 31 point third quarter and just outpaced the Jazz. Utah’s offense couldn’t keep up.

They might not have as much talent as the Warriors do, but the Rockets are certainly playing to their level right now. They move to 31-1 with James Harden, Chris Paul and Clint Capela all in the starting lineup and they’ve got a winning record against the Warriors so far this year. They just a machine with no power switch — no one has quite figured them out yet.

Say what you want about Harden and Paul — they’ve both had struggles in the playoffs and both are lacking the accolades they should probably have to this point. But this is their opportunity to take them. And, at least for now, it looks like they have a legitimate shot. Harden is normally cool about things like this, so whatever Ingles did to get under his skin it worked. It wasn’t good enough, though.
